Amazon is seeking an experienced Training Manager to coordinate, execute, and implement various Learning and Development programs used to train new hires and existing associates including leadership across our globally distributed sites. S/he will become an expert in data processes such as transcription and annotation, liaise with other site training managers, program managers, and global leaders to ensure training deliverables meet accuracy and throughput standards. The Training Manager must have a passion for, relationship-building, as well as data efficiency and accuracy. Specifically, the Training Manager will:
  • Manage, coach, assess and develop the site trainers and coordinate their work
  • Plan Training Deliveries & manage Instructor’s schedules
  • Become proficient in business processes
  • Provide reports and statistics on Specialty- Site- and Function-specific training performance against goals
  • Partner with Leadership in interim and final evaluation of learner outcomes and performance to determine next steps
  • Administer the LMS and LCMS for the site
  • Determine training requirements and build detailed training proposals and plans to help accelerate organizational performance
  • Continually evaluate training solutions for quality, business impact, and scalability
  • Maintain a strong relationship with all stakeholders to ensure flawless execution of training plans across sites
  • Deliver training as needed to support the initiatives
  • Build & maintain a pipeline of training opportunities and provide regular forecasts
  • Plan, communicate, manage, and measure milestones, risks, and process improvement opportunities of day-to-day operations, for the training team
  • Ensure timely and quality assured support during transfer of work either from an existing Amazon site to another or to ramp new work initiatives into one or multiple Amazon sites as the responsible Training Manager with a strong focus on and around training
  • Define standard operation processes (SOP), deploy them at the site-level and pro-actively defining roadblocks, tracking progress, surfacing risks & executing mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate with domain experts for quality assessments, quizzes, and feedback
  • Drive cross-site consistency in performance metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Four or more years as Training Manager or L&D Manager, preferably in the IT industry
  • Excellent proficiency in English
  • Experience working with a globally distributed team to achieve shared objectives
  • Experience leading large, multi-track, fast-moving projects
  • Experience working with various internal teams (including technical) to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop processes and tools
  • Experience with project specification, forecasting, and reporting
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with speech or language data, including experience with language annotation or natural language processing
  • Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs
  • Experience in training project management
