The ideal candidate has a track record of analytical skills, ability to recommend and execute a vision, and build programs and features from the ground up. You must be able to influence across multiple company organizations, be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker and have a history of delivering results. You will establish new relationships and strengthen existing relationships with publishers. You will be customer focused, entrepreneurial, a proven self-starter, and have the demonstrated ability to invent.

Within this Senior Vendor Manager role, you will -
· Be an expert vendor relationship manager and communicator
· You will be a strong negotiator, able to continually work with vendors to improve our customer offering. These include securing content/books from vendors, introducing new programs and better costs.
· Understand the performance of the vendors you work with and make recommendations
· Work closely with leaders across the Kindle organization – locally and globally – in ensuring that we continue to develop new services and product offerings

Basic Qualifications

Must have qualifications:
An MBA degree
· Exceptional ability to negotiate with vendors and influence leaders both externally and within Amazon
· Strong communication skills and exceptional assertive abilities on all levels, while maintaining your ability to be vocally self-critical and seek feedback
· Business focused thinking, an ability to focus on key issues and a strong hands-on, results driven mentality
· Special affinity and demonstrated skill with numbers, analyses and reports
· Excellent knowledge in Excel, and database work, with experience in SQL a plus
· Excellent marketing skills, a feel for customer needs, as well as a high degree of innovative prowess
· A great deal of personal initiative, creativity, decisiveness and team spirit

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with MBA with analytical sales roles requiring account / distributor management (data crunching and analytics combined with sale and account management) as relevant as direct vendor management experience.
Professional experience in e-commerce, sales, marketing, purchasing, key account management or consulting would be a plus.

Experience in academic/education sector would be a plus
