Job Description

The Manager – Automation role has been created as a technical interface to drive agenda with the operations & technology teams and build scalable solutions. Some of the key result areas include, but not limited to: 
  • Drive technical solutions to complex business problems, right from lightweight automation and POCs for future technology roadmaps to helping design and build robust and scalable solutions. 
  • Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience. 
  • Understand high-level technical aspects of existing systems and services
  • Provide support of incoming tickets for existing Applications, including extensive troubleshooting tasks. 
  • Drive coding projects, primarily in Perl or shell scripts, web technologies, with the potential for Java based projects 
  • Contributing to team discussions around system component design, improvement and integration 
  • Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • BE/MS in Computer Science or equivalent 
  • 7+ years of industry experience of development/technical support nature
  • Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting, perl, python or, Ruby
  • Experience with SQL scripting, querying databases, outside of extracting data
  • Knowledge of Java or open source based technologies.
    Understanding of XML based applications. 
  • Ability to write intermediate level database queries including SQL skills
  • Experience in technologies like HTML, Struts, Spring, Web services, APIs, Swing, SWT etc. 
  • Proven expertise and ability to develop processes and procedures which will enhance the overall efficiency with a strong bias towards automation in all operational tasks. 
  • Experience as leader in engineering environment 
  • Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence. 
  • Has a background in quantitative decision making, ability to drive business metrics, automate operational tasks, thereby driving process excellence and adoption of different tools and resources 
  • Strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in automation via Perl and Python programming

Preferred Qualifications

· Exposure to RegEX, XPATH, Application monitoring will be an added advantage
. Knowledge of SQL, ETL manager
. Ability to identify process gaps and contribute to process improvement.
· Has the ability to solve operational issues using technology.
