Finance Technology is looking for a driven, results-oriented leader that will lead teams building and operating Amazon's critical financial systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes in solving entrenched problems, and is passionate about building and growing a highly-talented team.

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team comprised of managers, product managers, technical project managers, application analysts, and software engineers to create world-class finance systems that support Amazon's global footprint. You must be willing to insist on the highest standards for quality, maintainability, and performance. The systems we own are responsible for trillions of financial events and billions in payments. You will ensure that engineering best practices are embedded into how we design, build and operate Amazon-built and third party software. You will own the strategic direction for your team, the goals and roadmap for your software, and be responsible for shaping your organization to for scale and growth as Amazon grows to a trillion dollar company. You must be a strong leader as you define and control your own success in Amazon's ownership oriented culture.

Our team operates ERP and custom software platforms that are among the largest in the world by volume and complexity. A successful candidate will be able to dive deep into business, technical and functional decisions across multiple teams. As a leader, you will drive operational excellence, architectural and design tenants, invent new features, and develop distributed services to support our global customer base. Our team encourages innovation and we expect developers and management alike to take a high level of ownership for the product vision, technical architecture and project delivery. Successful candidates will be high-bandwidth leaders who can cut through noise, simplify relentlessly, deliver results, and build great teams around themselves.

Basic Qualifications

10+ Years of Technical Management Experience
7+ Years of People Management Experience
7+ Years of Oracle eBusiness Suite experience
Track record of building and delivering mission critical, 24x7 production software systems

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of engineering best practices, operational excellence, and project management
Experience writing custom production code, building algorithms, and or object oriented design
Experience managing managers
Experience with global technology implementation efforts and rollouts for large scale ERP systems
Experience in the Finance, Accounting or Tax domains
