Job Description

Amazon Associates, also known as Amazon’s affiliate marketing program, is one of the largest of its kind. We have a massive range of associates that drive users to purchase everything from books to band saws or kayaks to Kindles. Such a large impactful program opens Amazon to many risks both financial and reputational.

As an Investigations Manager you will lead a team that researches and analyzes websites to determine their legitimacy, compliance and quality against our business standards. You will also be expected to invent and simplify existing processes and tools, clarify policies and identify emerging trends in affiliate fraud. You will lead the requirement gathering and designs for the tools and process changes and work closely with development teams to bring them to reality.
When violations or low-quality sites are identified, you will be expected to professionally communicate with associates, customer support and/or internal business teams.

Investigators are expected to learn and leverage sound business judgment to work independently, efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy. Your job will be to lead and mentor the investigations team. Successful candidates are natural leaders, self-starters, with a natural curiosity, an eye for detail, and solid communication skills

Responsibilities Include:

§Lead a team of front line supervisors and an overall investigation team
§ Ensure high quality and high volume productivity within the jobholder’s organizational units.
§ Play a critical role in building management depth by providing guidance and mentorship to all levels of leadership within your organizational units, as well as serving as an outstanding role model.
§ Develop employees and their skill sets to expand the team capabilities and provide growth opportunities for future leaders including application of succession planning at all levels across all teams.
§ Manage, create where required and maintain clear metrics on our investigation handling volumes, performance, and decision quality.
§ Achieve operational excellence and drive process improvement in our service level agreements (SLAs) for all processing activities.
§ Analyze the key levers of the business to identify possible gaps and proactively take action to eliminate root cause.
§ The manager's success will be measured by their ability to drive operational efficiencies across all processing areas whilst improving customer experience.
§ Keys to success in this role include exceptional leadership, analytical, managerial, interpersonal, and project management skills. This role blends operations, product management, customer service, global strategy and Analytics.

Internal note: This position will start in BLR2 but ultimately be in BLR13.

Basic Qualifications

§ 5+ years of relevant work experience managing cross-functional initiatives in a project/program/people management role
§ Experience working in a high paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
§ Proven ability in understanding complex process flows and improving processes.
§ Strong analytical skills
§ Strong controllership focus.
§ Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
§ Demonstrated ability to stay organized and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
§ Proven coaching and leadership skills including evidence of successful career progression and growth internally within operation and establishment of proven succession planning models.

Preferred Qualifications

§ A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA highly desirable
§ Experience in business, fraud investigation, audit, or similar field.
§ Proven track record driving change and innovation
§ Ability to use SQL
§ Other optional credentials that will be a value-add are multi-lingual skills or experience in managing multi-lingual team members/processes in these languages.
