Job Description

It's an exciting time of big growth, big bets and lots of innovation and experimentation at Amazon and in particular, an exciting period to be part of Amazon team in India. Currently, we are looking for a seasoned marketing leader to join our Consumer Marketing team and head one of the biggest digital marketing efforts in the country. This is role will be in charge of all digital marketing efforts on and off Amazon. Primarily this leader of leader will manage two big areas - digital channels and on-site marketing. Digital traffic channels includes all on-line/digital marketing channels that make Amazon.in the most visited property in India and support in building key long term Amazon assets, new customers, mobile customers, category level customer to name a few. Onsite marketing includes all cross-site activities such as merchandising and all events including the Amazon Great Indian Sale events and other seasonal events.

This is an important, high responsibility and high visibility role for Amazon and we are looking for individuals who have proven track record delivering big and ambitious goals and share a passion to build the most customer centric company in India.

Detail responsibilities include :
  • Build detailed road-maps for each channel outlining initiatives, milestones, enablers and dependencies to scale them and also bring about efficiency improvements
  • Hire and grow teams that are best equipped to handle the channels given the dynamic and fast-growth nature of the business
  • Good understanding of search as well as solid business understanding and ability to marry the two to come up with right strategies and priorities to support the need of the business
  • Actively participate in recruitment, regularly represent the team during reviews with senior leadership and act as a POC for one category to guide them to build their overall marketing plan
  • Work closely with engineering teams as well as WW team to leverage technology to build sustainable competitive advantage over other competitors
  • Bring about a ‘SEO First’ culture within the organization & create awareness of how category teams can best leverage paid search to grow their business
  • Drive change within the organization and put in place right processes for the growth of the channels by working closely and enabling / educating relevant teams (retail, technology etc.)
  • Work with senior leadership (head of businesses) and regularly report on progress made
  • Course-correct if needed basis developments in external environment (updates to algorithms, learnings from competition etc.) and also changes in business priorities

Basic Qualifications

· 15+ years of relevant work experience in marketing.
· Ability to execute wide-variety of marketing programs from demand generation and customer acquisition.
· Feel at home in an agile environment – and be able to constantly straddle between strategy and execution as needed
· Strong project management skills, creative thinking and analytical ability
· Proven success developing business, marketing planning/analysis, opportunity identification and optimizing marketing investment
· Motivated self-starter who thrives on working in complex and challenging environments of a rapidly evolving business
· Very strong written and verbal communication

  • Experience of working with cross-geography teams and working closely with engineering teams
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment; positive attitude and enthusiasm for getting results.
  • Thorough knowledge of mobile marketing, android ecosystem, mobile app development, and engagement measurements.
  • Experience managing third party vendors and external teams
  • Good knowledge of running large scale customer events and engagement activities.
  • Solid understanding of the customer lifecycle and life stages.
